1.Dal Lake, Kashmir

Dal lake, one of the most beautiful lakes in India, is the second largest lake of the state of

Jammu and Kashmir. Encircled by mountains on three sides, the banks of this lake are adorned by

several blooming gardens and orchards.

 

2.Shalimar Garden, Kashmir

Shalimar Garden was constructed in 1616 by Emperor Jehangir for his wife Nur Jahan. Later during

the reign of Mughal Emperor, Shah Jahan, between 1628 and 1658, a second garden, known as Faiz Baksh,

was added to it.

 

3.Betab Valley, Kashmir

Located at just 7 kilometres up from Pahalgam Chandanwari Road, is the beautiful Betab Valley. It is

surrounded by snow-covered mountain peaks and dense pine and deodar forests.

 

4.Nishat Garden, Kashmir

Nishat Garden, located on the banks of the beautiful Dal Lake, is one of the largest Mughal gardens.

Known as “the garden of bliss”, this garden was designed in 1633 AD by the brother of Nur Jahan, Asaf

Khan.

 

5.Chashmashahi, Kashmir

Chashmashahi, constructed in 1632 AD, is the smallest of the three Mughal gardens located in Kashmir.

Meaning Royal Spring, this garden is located above the Nehru Memorial Park. Measuring 108 m by 38 m,

the garden was built by Mughal Emperor, Shah Jahan.
